Wolverhampton based, Fourmasters Limited is this year marking its 25th successful year in business and is looking forward to a promising year with the appointment of a new Managing Director.  The appointment of Mark Cox in the first part of this year is set to continue the prosperity of the firm that has been so well established over the last 25 years.

Commenting on the new appointment, Peter Spittle, current Director and Chairman, said: “Mark’s background and considerable expertise will take the business forward in the right direction and competently grow the customer base.  Fourmasters are well set to see considerable investment in the future and hope to be able to recruit extra staff.  Mark is the ideal person to facilitate such developments and we wish him very well in his new role, as Graham Powell and I hope to embark on our retirement this year.”  Peter and Graham, two of the original four directors, are set to hand over the reins in March.  The company’s well established and highly regarded reputation is testament to the hard work of the four directors that opened the firm in 1988.

From modest beginnings in a small council unit on Fordhouse Road, Fourmasters Ltd soon began to flourish and required larger premises on Stafford Court and the subsequent recruitment of extra staff.  The firm diversified from their initial use of jigs and fixtures for the aerospace, automobile and motorsports sectors into making pressings to meet the needs of their growing customer base.  Even throughout the difficulties of the recent economic climate, Fourmasters have sustained their successes.  Peter Spittle explained their continued prosperity against the bleakness of the economy: “We have always managed to maintain profits, even through the difficult periods as we have been diverse in our operations.  We have spread our risk across a number of areas.  Most importantly, we have looked after our customers really well and always offered them the very best in service.  We are now well set to benefit from the increasing buoyancy of the aerospace sector and the interest in the automotive sector.  Midlands firms in the supply chain for companies like Jaguar Land Rover are doing well and have promising order books for 2013.”

Fourmasters are now well equipped to offer a complete service from the design and manufacture of a new press tool through to the final pressing.  Their in-house design facility enables complete control and flexibility throughout the product development process in bringing complex-shaped products to reality and allows customer requirements to be met economically and to the highest standard.  The company also have an experienced team of welders which specialise in the welding of aluminium and stainless steel.  They have two larger CNC machines in operation and also offer hand-made patternmaking facilities and offer a comprehensive service for the development and production of components for prototype and production systems.  Furthermore, Fourmasters are equipped to design and manufacture jigs and fixtures to customers’ specifications.

With such a well established reputation and wide range of offerings, Fourmasters can look forward to another prosperous year with a new Managing Director to further build on the sound foundations that have been established by the dedication and hard work of the original four directors.
